 Hi all

I plan to include all of the Filipino wedding traditions into our ceremony.  My fiance doesn't really like the coin ceremony.  He doesn't like the fact that we would be giving each other coins.  I've given him some samples of what we can do (instead of him just giving them to me, i can give them to him as well), but he doesn't seem to be too into it.  Are there any other kind of modifications to this that anyone has heard of?  I'm just trying to give him some options.  I don't think he has a problem with what it symbolizes.  I actually have no idea what his biggest problem with it is.  And I will certainly ask him, but I just wanted to see if anyone knows of any modifications.  Thanks

 on the face value, i think the problem is the fact that he's giving you (and vice-versa) some type of currency in exchange for your vows of marriage. i'm filipino and i know what the coin ceremony symbolizes and as you mentioned, your fiance knows it too. but it might just be the way the tradition looks, not what it symbolizes, that bothers him.
